The essentials

An electric car may be immobilised for reasons beyond running out of range. Share the displayed charge, warning messages and whether a charging cable is still connected. The professional needs the model to confirm suitable recovery equipment. Do not assume mobile charging is available.

Information to prepare

  • Give the make, model and displayed charge.
  • Copy the warning message without repeated attempts.
  • Say whether the charging cable unlocks normally.
  • Report an underbody impact, immersion or smoke.

What to watch for

Do not touch orange cables or the traction battery. Recovery must follow the exact vehicle manual; a method suitable for one model does not apply to all.

Availability and arrival time depend on professionals in your area, site access and required equipment. Confirm these when arranging assistance.

Do I need to know the destination garage?

Start by describing the breakdown and your location. If towing is needed, add the destination when you know it.

What if there is immediate danger?

Move to a safe place without exposing yourself to traffic and contact the relevant emergency services. On a concession motorway, contact ADM on 5050 and follow their instructions. Daba does not replace emergency services.
