A distance threshold is a condition found in some assistance policies. Check where the distance is measured from and which benefits it applies to. Do not assume it is identical for a breakdown, accident and other cover. The words “assistance included” alone do not answer those questions.
Prepare verifiable details
Before calling, gather the policy number, reference address and vehicle location. Describe the problem without changing its location to get around a condition. Ask the provider to identify the relevant clause and calculation method if the response is unclear. Keep a record of the exchange so you can review the policy afterwards.
Separate recovery from any policy dispute
If coverage is declined, request a written explanation and the insurer’s complaint procedure. At the same time, arrange a safe solution for the vehicle. Daba lets you request a provider directly and agree a price; it does not guarantee later reimbursement. Keep the quote and invoice if you intend to submit the costs to your insurer.
