Prepare the vehicle and its load

Before a long drive to Merzouga or Zagora, have tyres, brakes and cooling checked if their condition is uncertain. Consult the maintenance schedule and the tyre pressures specified for a loaded car. A spare wheel or mobility kit must suit your vehicle: check what is actually in the boot before departure.

Choose realistic stages

Locate fuel stops and accommodation along your route instead of relying on an unplanned stop. Download an offline map, carry drinking water and keep a way to charge your phone. Paved roads and tracks require different preparation: avoid taking a track without a suitable vehicle and appropriate local guidance.

Report a breakdown away from a town

If your vehicle stops, share an identifiable landmark, your direction of travel and the last settlement you passed. Explain whether you are on a road accessible to a recovery truck or on a track. From a safe place, open Daba to describe the situation. Availability and suitable equipment must be confirmed before assistance.
