Check documents before leaving

Gather driver and vehicle documents together with your insurer’s and assistance provider’s contact details. Check the formalities relevant to your situation and car with the official authorities. If you are not the owner, confirm the required permissions before travelling. Keep an accessible copy separately from the originals.

Plan a journey with time to rest

A return trip to Morocco can combine driving, port waiting and a ferry crossing. Plan stages that allow rest and unexpected delays without trying to recover lost time while driving. Before loading the car, check service due dates and the manufacturer’s tyre guidance for a loaded vehicle. Secure heavy luggage properly.

Prepare assistance for a foreign-registered car

Ask your assistance provider which procedure applies in Morocco and who must authorise recovery. If you make a Daba request, include make, model, powertrain and any transport constraints. Specify the desired destination without assuming international repatriation is included. Keep quotes and supporting documents for any later discussion with your insurer.
