Keep essentials accessible
Keep a charged phone, charging option, torch, water and useful contacts within reach. Store visibility equipment so you do not have to empty the boot beside traffic. Check its condition before a longer journey. Adapt the kit to passengers, weather and the areas you will be travelling through.
Check equipment compatibility
If the car has a spare wheel, check that it and the manufacturer’s tools are present. Mobility kits have limits and may have an expiry date: read the instructions before an incident occurs. Do not assume any set of cables or jack is suitable for your vehicle, particularly a hybrid or electric model.
A kit does not make the roadside safe
Having tools does not mean you should use them yourself. A wheel facing traffic, unstable ground or poor visibility can make work unsafe. Do not place warning equipment if doing so exposes you to vehicles. Reach a safe position when possible and request suitable assistance; tell Daba which equipment is actually available.
Spare wheel: equipment and requirements
A car may come with a spare wheel or a mobility kit: check its actual equipment and manual. This practical list does not establish a general legal requirement to carry a spare wheel in Morocco. Ask the relevant authority to confirm the rules applicable to your vehicle. When requesting assistance, state whether a compatible spare is present and accessible rather than assuming there is one.
