Check conditions before setting off
Check weather bulletins and available road information on the day you travel. A route suggested by a navigation app does not guarantee that a pass is open or passable. Be ready to postpone the trip and respect closures and official instructions. Let someone know your route and planned stopping places.
Prepare suitable equipment
Check tyres, battery, wipers and fluids against the vehicle manual. Snow equipment must fit the tyre size and manufacturer’s requirements; learn how it is used before travelling. Keep warm clothing, water and a charged phone accessible. Carrying equipment in the boot does not make every road safe to use.
If the vehicle becomes stranded
Do not try to free the car by exposing yourself to traffic, a steep slope or dangerous conditions. When requesting help, give your location, road condition and whether snow is present. Daba lets you describe the need, but access and equipment must be confirmed. Contact the appropriate emergency services first if there is immediate danger.
