Keep track of battery history
Keep the battery specification and installation date to help with testing or replacement. Infrequent use, short trips and equipment left powered may justify an electrical-system check. During hot weather, do not judge battery condition by age alone; an appropriate test provides more useful information.
Have unusual symptoms checked
Difficult starting, equipment resetting or a charging warning may have several causes. Ask for the battery and charging system to be checked instead of replacing parts at random. Keep away from a battery that is swollen, leaking or producing an unusual smell. On a hybrid or electric car, never touch high-voltage components.
Prepare compatible assistance
If the car will no longer start, tell Daba the model, powertrain and what happens when you try. Mention if it is underground or difficult to access. Assisted-start procedures differ between manufacturers: let the professional check equipment compatibility. Do not assume that getting the engine running resolves the original cause.
