Leave enough time

Plan the trip around your sleep and normal routine. Avoid making iftar an inflexible arrival deadline: arrange a stop if needed. Even a familiar road may be busier at certain times. Leave room for delays and adapt your driving to visibility and traffic rather than trying to make up lost time.

Stop when concentration drops

Repeated yawning, difficulty holding your lane or not remembering the last stretch of road are reasons to stop somewhere suitable. Do not rely on loud music or an open window to keep going. Take a proper break or let a rested driver take over. Postpone the journey if you cannot drive safely.

Prepare a request without rushing

Before travelling, charge your phone and keep useful contact details accessible. If the car breaks down, first get occupants away from traffic when this can be done safely. In Daba, describe what happened and provide an accessible meeting point. A meal deadline should never push you into accepting an unsafe manoeuvre.
