Check visibility in both directions
Before leaving, check the lights and clean the windscreen, mirrors and lamp lenses. Dirty glass or poorly adjusted lights can be more troublesome after dark. Choose a speed that allows you to react within the road you can actually see. Other vehicles’ lights will not reveal every obstacle ahead.
Plan rest before departure
If you are already tired, change your departure time or driver. Plan breaks at identifiable stopping places instead of isolated verges. If dazzled, reduce speed smoothly without staring at the light source. Stop somewhere safe when concentration drops; deciding to continue for a few more kilometres does not resolve fatigue.
Make the recovery request specific
After dark, an address alone may be hard to locate. Add the road name, approach direction and a landmark visible from the access point in Daba. Explain if there is no lighting or if the vehicle obstructs a lane. Wait somewhere safe agreed with the provider; do not stand in the road to guide the truck.
