Check cabin comfort before a long trip

Test ventilation and demisting before hot weather journeys. Weak airflow, an unusual smell or a persistent noise deserves inspection. Check the cabin-filter schedule in the maintenance plan. Explain the symptoms to the garage rather than automatically requesting a refrigerant refill without checking what caused the problem.

Have the system diagnosed

Poor cooling can have several causes. Request a diagnosis and a quote describing the proposed work before parts are replaced. Fluids and procedures must match the vehicle. Do not open the system or add an arbitrary product; use a professional with equipment suitable for that air-conditioning system.

Treat an engine warning separately

A comfort fault and an overheating engine require different responses. If a temperature warning appears, follow the manual and stop safely when instructed. Never remove the cap of a hot cooling system. Open Daba if the vehicle needs to remain immobilised; give the exact warning rather than only saying “air-conditioning problem”.
