Check the vehicle essentials
Review upcoming service requirements and check tyres, lights and wipers. Check fluid levels only as described in the manual and when it is safe to do so. Have any existing warning or unusual noise investigated before departure. A pre-trip check complements regular maintenance; it does not replace it.
Prepare passengers and the route
Secure luggage, arrange suitable equipment for passengers and keep water accessible. Charge your phone and save key stops for offline use. Identify rest areas and check traffic conditions. Leave enough flexibility to rest or change the plan rather than creating a series of stages that can only be met by rushing.
Know what to share after a breakdown
Keep vehicle details and your insurance contacts accessible. A Daba request is clearer when it includes location, the observed symptom and access constraints. Add a destination if you know it; choosing a garage should not prevent you from describing an urgent problem. Agree the price with the recovery provider.
