Compare equivalent documents
An insurer’s name alone does not describe your assistance cover. Collect the general terms, your individual policy schedule and any amendments for each offer. Check the version and covered vehicle. An old brochure or a different product is not enough for a comparison: request the documents matching the exact quote you are considering.
Build a checklist of questions
For each offer, list the covered area, any distance threshold, covered incidents, limits and approval process. Add your actual needs: a car near home, an older vehicle, foreign travel or recovery to a chosen garage. Ask for written clarification of your share of costs and the documents you will need.
Separate policy assistance from a direct request
ACAPS explains that assistance benefits depend on policy terms. Obtain your assistance provider’s approval before incurring costs if you expect coverage. You can use Daba when seeking a recovery provider directly; doing so does not constitute reimbursement approval from your insurer. Agree the service price with the provider.
