Start with the written cover

Car insurance and assistance address different needs even when offered together. One may provide compensation for damage, while the other arranges services when a vehicle is immobilised. Check your documents to see what is included: a product called “comprehensive” does not by itself describe every recovery arrangement.

Check how assistance is activated

Look for covered events, exclusions, distance conditions, limits and prior-approval requirements. Your entitlement depends on the policy and incident. Save the contact number before a breakdown happens and ask which documents to keep. Have unclear points confirmed in writing rather than relying on broad comparisons between insurers.

Arrange direct assistance when needed

If you choose to request a provider directly through Daba, state the vehicle, location and actual need. Agree the price and destination before transport. Explain if insurance approval is still pending. The platform cannot decide whether an insurer will reimburse the service; keep all relevant supporting documents.

Flooding: confirm what is covered

For a flood-affected car, do not infer cover from the name of your policy. Ask the insurer which cover may apply, its conditions, exclusions and required documents, and whether transport needs prior approval. Distinguish compensation for the vehicle from reimbursement of assistance. Keep the requested evidence and receipts; Allo Dépannage cannot confirm cover on your insurer’s behalf.
